ADHD & School Concerns
If your child is struggling to focus, sit still, or keep up at school, it can feel worrying and confusing. Dr Nisa Khalil, Consultant Paediatrician, offers calm, clear assessment and support for attention and behaviour, so you and your child know the way forward.

ADHD is a common way some children’s brains manage attention, activity, and impulses. It looks different in every child, and many children show some of these traits at times. It is the overall pattern, and how much it affects daily life, that matters.
Attention
Hard to focus or finish things, easily distracted, forgetful, loses things, avoids tasks that need sustained effort, seems not to listen.
Activity & impulse
Always on the go, fidgety, struggles to wait or take turns, interrupts, acts before thinking, very talkative.
Many bright, capable children have ADHD. It is not about effort or discipline.
It may be worth a proper look if the difficulties are getting in the way of everyday life. As a guide, that often means they:
Show up in more than one place, such as home and school
Have lasted several months, not just a hard week
Are more than you would expect for your child’s age
Are affecting learning, friendships, or family life
Trust your instincts. An assessment brings clarity, even if the answer is that all is well.
Calm, evidence-based assessment and support for attention, activity, and behaviour, focused on understanding your child and giving you a practical way forward.
